Tightwad Gazette

I borrowed The Complete Tightwad Gazette from the library this weekend. Some of the things in there are a little too much for me but there is some useful information. I particularly enjoy that she lives in Maine so there are alot of references to Maine and people writing in from Maine. Maybe I'll see one of my relatives in there!

    I love that book, but some of it was extreme. But what I got from it was, "wow -- it's ok to just go totally cowboy-crazy on this stuff!" Like, the forst time I bought clothes from the thriftstore, I was really surprised that the Earth didn't fall out of the sky, it was just that revolutionary for me.

    One thing I like is that Amy doesn't suggest that everybody do all tips; it's like a buffet where we can choose what we like.

    I admit I'm a huge Amy fan, since her newsletter days. I reread all three books at least once a year. Yeah, I'm a dork.

    (Some ideas I passed on earlier I tried later on. A couple ideas I tried....and stopped.)
